"Taking this course is worth it. There is a plethora of information which is very practical and can be used immediately in one's practice. It is explained in a way which can easily be explained to a client or patient as well."

"Do it! Y4T is full of quality content that is presented in a clear and organized manner. I have a deeper understanding of myself as well as more empathy and compassion towards all beings. This course is filling in the hole of our yoga practice in the west."

I joined this program because… my father has recently passed away and as I reflect on his life, our relationship and the fact that I work with people dealing with mental health and addictions, I felt compelled to learn more, cultivate understanding and seek deeper knowledge to the healing approaches of trauma recovery and how to best apply yoga practices with these sensitive students. The most helpful part of Y4T was understanding the bridge between yoga philosophy and trauma theory. Yoga teachers or clinical directors at treatment facilities would benefit from joining this program. If you’re considering enrolling in Y4T go for it! Lisa is a knowledgeable, caring and compassionate communicator and teacher and students will receive a strong foundation in trauma theory and how it relates to yoga.

"I think of trauma informed yoga as a lens through which yoga teachers can frame their classes. It does not necessarily need to be about therapy - rather it is about having awareness of others' experience(s), past and current, and understanding how those experiences might manifest in the body. Using a trauma informed approach enables yoga teachers to hold compassionate space for individuals to practice grounding and explore their boundaries (physical, emotional, psycho-emotional, etc.). Using the tools of trauma informed yoga, teachers and students together can develop deeper understanding of their relationship with themselves and their relationships with others."

I am grateful for Lisa's teaching, and for the work I have done through this course. Lisa is a gifted teacher. Her thinking is well organized, grounded in interdisciplinary research and theory, which she has clearly integrated into her thinking and into her own life. She brings an ability to communicate to a diverse group of others, using direct, concise language. She communicates, with grace and compassion, that grace and compassion for self and others are the foundations of our work! She offers graphics that are focused and enhanced the key ideas of each week's lesson...and doing all this on-line!! In addition, she brings her grounded self to the work and offers a delightful sense of fun and play as she shares, in a balanced way, both the difficult and joyful truth of life experiences.

"Y4T provided me with tons of useful tools for my work with trauma sensitive populations that I teach yoga to. It also provided me with so much rich wisdom from the lens of psychology and how it coincides with yoga. I am grateful this course exists!"

This is a very accessible program that provides you with tools you will use for a lifetime, not just for your clients, but for you. And that's actually the most important part. If we aren't keeping ourselves regulated we cannot help others find self-regulation.

"If you dedicate and practice and experience Lisa's knowledge you will learn so much more about yourself. There is so much more beyond the technical part. It has made me more safe and I feel more whole. This course was a gift to me and I really recommend it."

This course is very valuable in its content, you will learn a lot not only about the topic itself, but also very importantly about efficient self-care.

"Lisa holds a wealth of trauma knowledge with great intelligence and lightness. She weaves clear frames of information that are immediately applicable to the yoga profession and any profession that works directly with the body and an embodied experience."

Y4T is a thorough dive into trauma-informed yoga teaching and the ways complex trauma and PTSD can show up on the mat. The course is a wonderful blend of theory and practical advice on how to better address trauma populations through yoga.

This course is for anyone with an interest in learning more about tools for healing and deepening their understanding of themselves, their family, their clients and colleagues. The concepts were presented in such a way that even though I do not have a background in psychology, I could grasp the overall concepts and was given information of where to go for supported reading. Lisa was there to answer any and all questions. If you think the course material sounds interesting but you aren't sure how you might incorporate it into your work or life, just dive in and the connections will reveal themselves. If it sounds interesting- it's for you!

"I teach to a group of ex-prison inmates who are mandated to an outpatient program as part of their parole. Prior to this I was struggling with teaching yoga to a population challenged by mental and emotional disorders. I was having trouble gathering the students' attention and directing them towards progress in their practice. This provided me with creative ideas on how to better facilitate the class. I felt I gained a new perspective on how to approach my challenge of teaching in this context. The group has responded to my new style with enthusiasm; they are thankful and even stick around after class to fill me in on their lives, and their personal progress with health and lifestyle!"

I joined this program because I wanted to increase my resources as a practitioner, and find new skills in how to support my clients who have experienced trauma. The most helpful part of Y4T was all of the additional resources and the practicals. Anyone who sees clients for mental health or body work would benefit from joining this program. If you’re considering enrolling in Y4T, GO FOR IT! I loved ALL of it! Lisa is the real deal.
