The Advanced Training and Mentorship Program includes the following

Monthly 1:1 Personal Support Call

Each month, you'll meet with Lisa to discuss your current needs and goals. In your first session, you'll plan your overarching vision for the program. Then, we'll continue to explore – What is the work bringing up for you? How might you need to adjust your personal or professional practices to both keep your work sustainable and best serve your clients? You can also use this time to receive support in making difficult decisions about your business and the how's, when's, and why's that arise with clients, classes, and in your work as a whole. The support session is your time to receive support towards your goals.

Group Conferences

Each month we meet for 90 minutes to reflect on the month's reading and support one another's therapeutic work. We begin each session with a short meditation and opportunity to connect, then have time to discuss the biggest takeaways from the monthly readings and proceed to the assigned case presentation (see below).

Case Presentations

Each month, one group member writes up a case they'd like to consult with the group about, and presents this case. You'll be provided a format for this, and can focus on either an individual or group that you serve. After questions and discussion, you'll leave with a clear sense of how you can move forward in a way that is healthy for you and your client or student. Tara, a 2017 program graduate, described these consultations as "the group's magic pouring into each of my clients."

Monthly Readings with Reflection Questions and Discussion

We will read one book per month throughout the program, some academic, some narrative, and all related to themes of trauma recovery, teaching, yoga, leadership, philosophy, education and growth – in all senses of the word. Each month you'll have reflection questions to deepen your experience of the reading and spark discussion with your cohort. We will ll ship all required books to you in print or, if you prefer, send them in e-book format.

Group Retreat

This is your opportunity to connect with the group and celebrate your successes! At this stage we are continuing to host the retreat virtually at the end of the program. It will consist of yoga practice, creative reflection, and a closing ceremony. If it is safe to gather, we may be able to host future retreats in person. Either way, the retreat will offer a space to connect, reflect, and celebrate together!

Certification

Upon completion of all components of the program, you will receive an Advanced Studies Certificate from The Center for Yoga and Trauma Recovery, and have the first opportunity to become a CYTR Certified Provider – this requires licensure or certification in your field, along with completion of an exam based on TIY principles, and a live or recorded video practicum. For the 2021-2022 class there will be no additional fee if you wish to pursue Certification. Advanced Training grads will also have first access to the Y4T Curriculum, currently in development.

"I LOVE learning from Lisa!!! I admire the way she holds space for learning, it makes me feel safe and seen. I relate to her style of teaching and feel like there is a golden nugget I take home every time we meet in person or online.  When choosing this program, I felt very confident that Lisa would bring together a group that would be inspiring and nourishing personally and professionally. Now, my life and the healing journey of my students have been forever changed. It all started 3 years ago with the Y4T online course."

Advanced Training Grads in their own words...

Meghan Delaney Zipin, Boston, MA

I love learning from the cases. I love hearing the entirety of a person's story rather than a tidbit. Through the case process I was reminded of the clinical-ness I can bring to an experience. It doesn't represent what happens in the room. It dulls it and takes away the heart work. I can disconnect easily and to a fault- the case reminded me that I can come from an academic perspective, and I'd like to choose to focus more on emotion.

The 1:1s, group calls, reading and retreat all came together with incredible synergy to forge a solid and confident path for the future of my studio, and now I have more colleagues whom I trust and can go to with questions and share exciting ideas. If your insides are buzzing and saying "I want that, too!", then this is the program to get you there.
